PuzzleMaker Pro ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services.

Information You Provide

When you create an account or use the Service, we may collect:

• Account credentials (passwords are securely hashed and never stored in plain text)
• Payment information (processed securely by our third-party payment provider; we do not store full card numbers)
• Puzzle content you create, including word lists, titles, and configurations
• AI instructions you submit, including the topic, activity type, and audience level
• Support correspondence and feedback

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, we may automatically collect:

• Device and browser information (type, version, operating system)
• IP address and approximate location
• Pages visited, time spent on pages, and navigation patterns
• Referring website or source
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies

AI Features and Connected Assistants

Built-in AI creation

When you use Create with AI, we send your topic, selected activity type, and audience level to Anthropic, our AI service provider, so it can draft puzzle content. PuzzleMaker Pro validates the response and builds the puzzle layout. The resulting draft is stored for seven days; anyone with its unguessable draft link can view its content. If you save the puzzle or create an assignment, it follows the retention rules for your account content. Anthropic processes the information it receives under its own privacy terms.

Connected AI assistants

When you use our MCP integration, your assistant sends the puzzle content and settings needed to create your activity. Connecting an assistant lets it perform only the actions you approve, such as exporting worksheets, saving drafts, or creating online assignments. The integration does not provide student results, billing changes, or puzzle deletion tools. You can revoke a connection from connected assistants. Your assistant provider processes your conversation under its own privacy policy.

Storage, safety, and usage records

Generated download links expire after one hour. We store hashed access and refresh tokens for connected assistants, along with limited usage and rate-limit records needed to enforce plan limits, prevent abuse, and measure reliability. Integration activity records are kept for up to 90 days and do not contain your prompts or puzzle content. We may automatically check submitted and generated text for prohibited personal or harmful content. Do not include student personal information, passwords, confidential information, or other sensitive data in AI requests.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
• Process your transactions and manage your subscription
• Save and organize your puzzles for later access
• Generate requested puzzle content through our AI service provider and enforce AI usage limits
• Send you account-related communications (confirmations, security alerts, support responses)
• Improve and personalize the Service based on usage patterns
• Monitor and analyze trends to enhance user experience
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues

3. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how you use the Service. You can control cookie settings through your browser. Disabling cookies may affect some features of the Service.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL), secure password hashing, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. AI drafts are normally deleted after seven days, generated download links expire after one hour, and connected-assistant activity records are retained for up to 90 days. Third-party AI providers may retain information according to their own terms and policies. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as resolving disputes or enforcing agreements). Anonymized or aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
• Request portability of your data in a machine-readable format
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

8. Children's Privacy

PuzzleMaker Pro is designed for educators and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete that information. Our puzzles are intended to be created by teachers and parents for use by students — students do not need accounts to use puzzles.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
